We’re looking for a sharp, self-driven professional to anchor both the people and financial sides of Bridal Couture. This is a dual-role position where you’ll manage end-to-end HR operations — from hiring talented artisans to ensuring statutory compliance — while also owning day-to-day accounting, GST filings, and payroll. You’ll be the backbone that keeps our creative team running smoothly and our books in perfect order.
Key Responsibilities — HR
• Own the full recruitment cycle: draft JDs, post openings, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and issue offer letters for roles across design, tailoring, retail, and operations.
• Run a structured onboarding programme — introduction to brand values, team meet-and-greets, workspace setup, and documentation collection (Aadhaar, PAN, bank details).
• Maintain accurate employee records including personal data, contracts, appraisals, and exit documentation using HRMS tools or structured spreadsheets.
• Track daily attendance, manage leave balances (earned, casual, sick, maternity/paternity), and maintain the leave ledger for payroll inputs.
• Ensure full compliance with Indian labour statutes — PF (EPF & EPS), ESI, Professional Tax, Gratuity Act, Shops & Establishments Act (Haryana), and Bonus Act.
• Handle monthly PF/ESI e-filings, generate UAN for new joiners, process transfer/withdrawal requests, and liaise with the regional PF office as needed.
• Draft and maintain HR policies: attendance rules, dress code, code of conduct, anti-harassment (POSH compliance), and grievance redressal.
• Coordinate performance reviews, manage confirmation/probation processes, and maintain an appraisal calendar.
• Foster a positive workplace culture suited to a creative fashion environment — plan team events, celebrate milestones, and address employee concerns with empathy.
• Manage the full-and-final settlement process for exits: experience letters, relieving letters, gratuity calculations, and pending dues.
Key Responsibilities — Accounts & Finance
• Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping using Tally ERP 9 / Tally Prime — record all sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and journal entries with proper voucher classification.
• Process GST compliance end-to-end: raise GST-compliant invoices, file GSTR-1 (outward supplies), GSTR-3B (summary returns), and reconcile with GSTR-2A/2B for ITC claims.
• Handle TDS calculations, deductions, and quarterly e-filing (24Q for salaries, 26Q for non-salary payments). Issue Form 16/16A to employees and vendors.
• Process payroll monthly: compute gross-to-net salaries factoring in PF, ESI, PT, TDS, incentives, overtime, and advance deductions. Generate pay slips.
• Manage vendor and supplier payments — track outstanding payables, negotiate payment terms with fabric suppliers and embroidery contractors, and ensure timely settlements.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliation across all business accounts; flag and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare and maintain key financial reports: Profit & Loss statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow statement, Ageing reports (receivables & payables), and monthly MIS for the founder.
• Handle petty cash management with proper documentation and periodic audits.
• Coordinate with the external CA/auditor for annual filings, Income Tax returns, and statutory audits. Keep all records audit-ready throughout the year.
• Track inventory valuation for fabric, embellishments, and finished garments in coordination with the production team.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Certification
• B.Com (Honours) is the minimum; M.Com, MBA (HR/Finance), or CA-Inter strongly preferred.
• Practical knowledge of Indian labour laws, PF/ESI portals, and GST/TDS filing procedures is essential.
• 2–5 years of combined experience in HR operations and accounting, ideally in retail, fashion, D2C, or a small-to-mid-size business.
Software & Technical Skills
• Tally ERP 9 / Tally Prime — proficient in voucher entry, GST module, payroll, and reporting.
• Advanced Excel — pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, conditional formatting, and data validation.
• Familiarity with HRMS platforms (Zoho People, greytHR, Keka, or similar).
• Comfortable navigating government portals: EPFO, ESIC, GST, TRACES, Income Tax e-filing.
Soft Skills & Attributes
• Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail — numbers and people both need precision.
• Strong communication skills in English and Hindi; able to converse comfortably with artisans and vendors alike.
• Discreet and trustworthy — will handle confidential salary data, employee issues, and financial records.
• Proactive problem-solver who can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Bonus: Experience in or genuine interest in fashion, textiles, or the wedding industry.
Reporting Structure
This role reports directly to the Founder / Managing Director of Bridal Couture. As the sole HR and accounts resource, this person will work cross-functionally with the design team, production floor, and retail staff. There are no direct reports initially, but the role may evolve to supervise an HR assistant or junior accountant as the brand scales.
