Job Summary
The Assistant Manager – HR will be responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations in a mechanical manufacturing environment. The role includes recruitment, employee relations, attendance and payroll coordination, statutory compliance, contract labour management, performance management, training, and HR documentation.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Manpower Planning
Handle end-to-end recruitment for permanent, temporary and contract employees.
Coordinate with department heads for manpower requirements.
Source candidates through job portals, consultants, employee referrals and other recruitment channels.
Conduct initial interviews and coordinate final interviews with management.
Manage joining formalities, induction and employee onboarding.
2. Attendance, Leave & Payroll
Monitor employee attendance, shifts, overtime and leave records.
Coordinate with the payroll team for monthly salary processing.
Verify attendance, OT, incentives and other payroll-related data.
Maintain employee records and salary documentation.
3. Employee Relations
Handle employee grievances and workplace issues.
Maintain healthy relationships between management and employees.
Conduct disciplinary actions and issue warning letters, memos and show-cause notices when required.
Support employee engagement and welfare activities.
4. Statutory Compliance
Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws.
Coordinate PF, ESI, bonus, gratuity and other statutory requirements.
Maintain statutory registers and employee records.
Coordinate with government departments, auditors and external consultants.
5. Contract Labour Management
Monitor contract labour attendance and deployment.
Coordinate with manpower agencies and contractors.
Verify contractor bills, attendance and statutory compliance documents.
Ensure required licences, registers and documents are maintained.
6. Performance Management & Training
Support the performance appraisal process.
Coordinate employee training and skill development programs.
Maintain training records and competency matrices.
Identify training requirements with department heads.
7. HR Documentation & Audit
Maintain employee personnel files and HR records.
Prepare HR reports, MIS and manpower reports.
Support ISO / IATF / internal and external audits.
Ensure HR policies and procedures are properly implemented.
8. Administration
Support general administration and facility management activities.
Coordinate transport, security, housekeeping and employee welfare activities.
Maintain discipline and workplace standards.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of Recruitment and HR Operations.
Knowledge of Labour Laws, PF, ESI and statutory compliance.
Experience in Attendance, Payroll and Overtime calculation.
Contract labour management experience.
Good communication and employee handling skills.
Knowledge of MS Excel, Word and HR MIS.
Experience in ISO / IATF documentation is an added advantage.
Qualification & Experience
Education: MBA – HR / MSW / Any Degree with HR specialization
Experience: 8–10 years in HR & Administration, preferably in Mechanical or Manufacturing Industry.
