We are looing for Assistant Manager - HR for Hooghly Alloy & Steel Company Pvt. Ltd., based at Srirampur, Hooghly. The job involves overseeing all human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, compensation, and compliance with labor laws. Key responsibilities include developing HR policies, managing performance and talent development, administering benefits, ensuring a safe and productive work environment, and fostering a positive workplace culture. The role requires strong communication and leadership skills, with experience in Steel or similar manufacturing environment being highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Strategy and Policy: Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and strategies aligned with the plant's objectives and business goals.
Talent Acquisition: Manage all aspects of the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding process for plant employees.
Employee Relations: Handle employee relations, including conflict resolution, grievance procedures, and disciplinary actions, while fostering a positive work environment.
Compensation and Benefits: Administer compensation, benefits, and payroll systems for the plant's staff.
Performance Management: Oversee performance management and appraisal systems and manage talent development programs.
Compliance: Ensure the plant complies with all federal, state, and local labor laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
Training and Development: Coordinate and lead training and development programs to improve employee skills and performance.
Workforce Planning: Support plant leadership with workforce planning, staffing needs, and organizational development.
Employee Engagement: Drive initiatives to improve employee engagement, retention, and safety performance.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential HR records and prepare reports as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 6 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
Strong knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and safety standards.
Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
Proficiency with HR software and systems.
