Hospital Receptionist

• Patient and visitor interaction:

  • Greet and welcome patients and visitors in person and on the phone.

  • Direct people to the appropriate departments or personnel.

  • Provide comfort and answer questions to minimize anxiety.

• Scheduling and administration:

  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments.

  • Notify providers of patient arrivals.

  • Assist patients with filling out necessary forms.

• Record and data management:

  • Create, update, and retrieve patient records.

  • Verify insurance information and patient demographics.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of all patient and staff information in accordance with policies like HIPAA.

• Financial and billing tasks:

  • Collect co-pays and other payments.

  • Address billing questions and file third-party claims.

  • Process bills and prepare customer bills.

• Office and staff support:

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area.

  • Manage and order office supplies and equipment.

  • Answer multi-line phone systems and forward calls.

  • Communicate with medical staff and other departments as needed.
