STP Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) as per prescribed operating procedures.

• Monitor the performance of pumps, blowers, motors, aeration systems, clarifiers, filters, dosing systems, and other STP equipment.

• Check and maintain key water-quality parameters such as pH, DO, TSS, and other applicable parameters as per site requirements.

• Conduct routine inspection of all STP equipment and identify abnormalities, leakage, unusual noise, vibration, or breakdown risks.

• Ensure proper operation of sludge handling, dewatering, and disposal processes.

• Operate chemical dosing systems and maintain appropriate chemical levels as instructed.

• Maintain daily STP logbooks, operational records, meter readings, chemical consumption, and maintenance records.

• Report equipment breakdowns, technical issues, abnormal plant conditions, and maintenance requirements to the Technical Supervisor/Facility Manager.

• Carry out routine cleaning and housekeeping of the STP area and ensure the plant remains clean and organized.

• Ensure treated water is managed and reused/discharged as per applicable site requirements.

• Assist the technical team during preventive and corrective maintenance activities.

• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE while handling machinery and chemicals.

• Ensure proper storage and handling of chemicals used in the treatment process.

• Support periodic inspection, testing, and servicing of STP equipment.

• Coordinate with maintenance personnel and vendors during repair and servicing activities.

• Immediately report any environmental, safety, or operational concern to the reporting supervisor.

• Perform any other STP-related duties assigned by the reporting manager.

• It is a Full Time Plumber job for candidates with 3 - 5 years of experience.
