The Plumber is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all plumbing systems and fixtures throughout the hotel, ensuring smooth operation of water supply, drainage, heating, and sanitation systems. The role requires timely response to maintenance requests, adherence to safety and hygiene standards, and support for the overall upkeep of guest and back-of-house areas.
Inspect, install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems including water supply lines, drainage systems, valves, pumps, and related fixtures.
Ensure all plumbing works comply with hotel standards, safety regulations, and local building codes.
Respond promptly to guest room and public area maintenance requests related to plumbing issues (leaks, blockages, low water pressure, etc.).
Maintain and repair hot and cold-water systems, water heaters, and sanitary fittings.
Monitor water consumption and report irregularities or wastage to the Engineering Supervisor.
Perform preventive maintenance as per the hotel’s maintenance schedule.
Coordinate with other departments (Housekeeping, Front Office, F&B, etc.) to minimize disruption during maintenance work.
Maintain inventory of plumbing tools, equipment, and spare parts; report shortages promptly.
Keep accurate maintenance and repair records.
Ensure proper housekeeping of work areas after completion of tasks.
Follow all safety protocols, wear PPE, and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Assist in emergency situations such as water leakages, flooding, or burst pipes.
Support other engineering team members in general maintenance activities as required.
ITI / Diploma in Plumbing or equivalent technical qualification.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Plumber, preferably in a star hotel or similar hospitality environment.
Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and tools.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plumbing layouts.
Good physical stamina and ability to work in confined spaces.
Basic knowledge of safety and hygiene standards.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and during emergencies.
Timely completion of maintenance requests.
Compliance with preventive maintenance schedules.
Guest satisfaction related to plumbing services.
Reduction in breakdown frequency and water wastage.
