Job Title: Fabricator

Department: Production / Maintenance / Workshop

Reports To: Supervisor / Production Manager

Job Summary:

The Fabricator is responsible for cutting, shaping, assembling, and welding metal components to build or repair structures, machinery, and equipment. The role involves reading blueprints, operating fabrication machinery, and ensuring high-quality workmanship while maintaining safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

• Measure, cut, bend, and shape metal materials using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery.

• Weld or assemble components to create final products or structures.

• Inspect and verify completed products to ensure they meet design and quality standards.

• Operate fabrication machines such as grinders, drills, saws, shears, and presses.

• Perform repairs and modifications to metal structures and components as required.

• Maintain tools, machinery, and the work area in a safe and organized condition.

• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment.

• Collaborate with engineers, welders, and supervisors to complete assigned projects efficiently.

• Report any material shortages, defects, or mechanical issues to the supervisor.

Qualifications and Skills:

• ITI / Diploma in Fabrication, Welding, or Mechanical Trade.

• Proven experience as a metal fabricator, fitter, or welder.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

• Skilled in welding, cutting, and assembling metal components.

• Knowledge of different metals and fabrication processes.

• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.

• Physical stamina and ability to work in industrial environments.

• Good teamwork and communication skills.

Experience Required:

Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience in fabrication or metalworking.

Work Conditions:

• Workshop or on-site work depending on project requirements.

• May involve standing for long periods and handling heavy materials.

• Must adhere to safety and PPE standards at all times.
