Job Description – Automobile Painter

Job Title: Car Painter / Automotive Painter
Department: Body Shop
Reports To: Body Shop Manager / Workshop Supervisor

Job Summary

The Automobile Painter is responsible for preparing vehicle surfaces, mixing paints, and applying coatings to restore vehicles to original finish and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, masking, and priming.
Mix paints and match colors accurately.
Apply paint using spray guns and painting equipment.
Polish and finish painted surfaces for smooth appearance.
Inspect paintwork for defects and correct imperfections.
Maintain paint booth cleanliness and equipment.
Follow safety procedures while handling chemicals and paints.
Coordinate with deters and supervisors for job completion.

Requirements

ITI / Diploma in Automobile or Painter trade preferred.
2–5 years' experience in automobile painting.
Knowledge of paint mixing, color matching, and spray techniques.
Familiarity with painting tools and safety standards.
Attention to detail and finishing quality.
