1. Receiving the new patients in the wards and orienting them to the room, features such as Nurse Call system, Bed side rails etc.
2. Conducting Nursing Initial Assessment & developing Nursing Care Plan and documenting the same in required forms.
3. Maintenance of nursing records including nurses notes and various nursing charts for all assigned patients as per protocols.
4. Ensure all the patient’s needs are identified & met daily in each shift & Nursing care is provided as per the identified needs.
5. Ensure that all doctors’ orders are carried out immediately.
6. Educate patients and their attendants as required where a need has been identified.
7. Communicate effectively with patient and relatives and assist in solving their difficulties.
8. Participate in nursing induction & trainings in-house /external whenever required and attend mandatory training sessions planned by the hospital.
9. Maintains continuity of care through clear and concise verbal and written communication with all departments, internal and external customers
10. Collects and sends all relevant documents duly completed to ensure speedy transfers or discharge process.
11. Maintaining various nursing registers in the ward & OT
12. Conducting Inventory check in each shift & recording in the registers.
13. Checking functioning of the equipment’s on daily basis & inform Maintenance Department in case of any breakdown of equipment’s.
14. Handing over and taking over charge on change of duty staff.
15. Monitoring the Cleanliness & Disinfection of Ward, annexes, furniture, linen, equipment and stores carried out by housekeeping staff in every shift.
16. Preparation of dressings, bandages and splints and items required for dealing with emergencies.
17. Ensuring Safe custody and maintenance of medical records of patients.
