Staff Nurse

·      To prepare the Infection Prevention & Control Manual covering all NABH Standards.

·      To review and update the manual on yearly basis and get revisions, if, any, approved by concerned authorities.

·      Supervision and implementation of all aspects described in manual for continuous Quality Improvement & Patient Safety.

·      To conduct daily surveillance of OT, CSSD, all wards and patient care areas through predefined checklists.

·      Carrying out weekly & biweekly surveillance of support areas like Biomedical Waste Accumulation Area, Kitchen, etc. through predefined checklists & ensuring necessary corrective & Preventive actions (CAPA) are undertaken to close any gaps identified.

·      Collection and tabulation of daily data of all incidents of hospital acquired infections, conduct RCA if required & recommend necessary CAPA.

·      Compiling records of infected patients from ward notifications, case notes, laboratory reports and information collected in routine visits and discussions.

·      Monitoring Hand hygiene compliance through random audits & collating the data on monthly basis & presenting the same in HIC Committee.

·      Collection of needle sticks injury incidents and training of staff about the steps to be taken in case of an accidental needle stick injury and the availability of hepatitis vaccination

·      Arranging for prompt isolation of infected patients in accordance with hospital’s policy in co-operation with the Consultants and Ward Nurses.
