Job Summary
A Staff Nurse is responsible for providing quality patient care, maintaining patient records, assisting doctors during treatment and procedures, ensuring infection control, and supporting smooth hospital operations while maintaining patient safety and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
Monitor patient condition and vital signs regularly.
Administer medicines, injections, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed by doctors.
Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care.
Assist patients in daily activities and ensure comfort.
Maintain proper documentation of patient care and treatment.
Clinical Duties
Assist doctors during examinations, procedures, and emergencies.
Prepare and maintain medical equipment and instruments.
Handle emergency cases promptly and efficiently.
Collect blood, urine, and other samples when required.
Infection Control & Safety
Follow hospital infection control protocols.
Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in wards and nursing stations.
Proper disposal of biomedical waste as per hospital policy.
Maintain patient safety and prevent medication errors.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain nursing notes and patient records accurately.
Update patient charts and medication records.
Report patient condition changes immediately to doctors/seniors.
Prepare handover reports during shift changes.
Coordination
Coordinate with doctors, RMOs, pharmacy, pathology, housekeeping, and other departments.
Guide patient attendants regarding treatment instructions and hospital policies.
Patient & Attendant Communication
Communicate politely and professionally with patients and attendants.
Provide health education and discharge instructions.
Handle patient queries and complaints appropriately.
Required Qualifications
GNM / B.Sc Nursing / ANM (as applicable)
Valid Nursing Registration Certificate
