Role & Responsibilities of Vcare COE Nurse
Purpose: An aesthetic nurse is a registered nurse who specializes in non-surgical cosmetic and dermatological procedures. Their primary role is to assist doctors, ensure patient safety, and provide holistic care before, during, and after treatments ensuring the safe, ethical, and effective delivery of aesthetic treatments and patient care
Scope-This SOP applies to all nursing staff working in the aesthetic/dermatology department or clinic .
Key Responsibilities
1. Patient Assessment & Consultation
• Conduct initial patient assessment (vitals, skin analysis, allergies, and medical history).
• Identify contraindications before procedures & assist in obtaining informed consent.
• Assist physician in aesthetic and dermatology procedures. Pre- and post-treatment skincare.
• Assist physician for injectables & IV’s (e.g., Botox, dermal fillers) where legally permitted.
• Maintain strict aseptic and infection-control practices.
3. Pre- & Post-Procedure Care
• Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and consumables. Prepare patients before procedures.
• Monitor patients during and after treatments for any adverse reactions.
• Provide detailed post-procedure instructions and follow-up care.
4. Safety & Compliance
• Ensure all procedures comply with clinical safety standards.
• Handle and dispose of clinical waste and sharps responsibly.
• Maintain accurate patient records, treatment notes, and consent forms.
• Stay updated with legal, ethical and regulatory for aesthetic procedure.
5. Support & Coordination
• Coordinate with dermatologists/ aesthetic physicians for seamless care.
• Assist in managing emergencies such as allergic reactions or anaphylaxis.
• Manage inventory of medicines, consumables, and devices.
6. Education & Professional Development
Keep updated with new aesthetic technologies, techniques, and products.
Attend training, workshops, and certification programs.
Educate patients about skincare, wellness, and preventive care.
