The Patient Care Taker is responsible for providing compassionate, day-to-day support to patients in hospitals, clinics, or home care settings. The role involves assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, feeding, medication reminders, and ensuring the patient’s comfort, safety, and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Support patients with mobility, positioning, and exercises as per medical advice.
Feed patients or assist them in eating and drinking according to dietary instructions.
Administer medication reminders as directed by healthcare professionals.
Monitor and report changes in patient’s physical or emotional condition to the nurse or doctor.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the patient’s surroundings, bedding, and equipment.
Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
Accompany patients to medical appointments or diagnostic tests if required.
Ensure proper documentation and follow infection control and safety protocols.
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum qualification: 10th/12th pass or equivalent.
Certified training in patient care, nursing assistance, or caregiving preferred.
Basic understanding of medical terms and hygiene standards.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Physically fit and emotionally stable to handle patient care.
Empathetic, patient, and attentive to detail.
