Summary:
The Staff Nurse provides safe, high-quality patient care by following clinical protocols, maintaining accurate documentation, and coordinating with doctors and allied healthcare staff. The role ensures patient comfort, timely medication, and adherence to hospital standards.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vitals, administering medications, and managing IV lines.
• Assist doctors during rounds, examinations, and procedures.
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing notes, medication charts, and patient records.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, surgeries, and procedures.
• Ensure infection control practices are followed as per hospital guidelines.
• Manage emergency situations and escalate concerns to the doctor/shift in-charge.
• Support patient mobility, hygiene, feeding, and overall comfort.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition immediately.
• Handle equipment safely (syringe pumps, monitors, suction machines, ventilators – as applicable).
• Educate patients and attendants on care plans and discharge instructions.
• Maintain stock of consumables, medications, and nursing supplies.
• Follow NABH and hospital protocols for documentation, handovers, and patient safety.
Qualifications Required:
• GNM / B.Sc Nursing / M.Sc Nursing
• Registration with State Nursing Council
Skills Needed:
• Strong clinical knowledge and patient care skills
• Good communication and calm handling of patients
• Ability to handle emergencies and multitask
