Staff Nurse

Job Title: Staff Nurse

• Department: Nursing Services

• Reports To: Nursing Superintendent / Head Nurse / Ward In-Charge

• Job Summary: The Staff Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality direct patient care. This role involves assessing patient conditions, administering medications, assisting with medical procedures, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety.

Key Responsibilities

1. Direct Patient Care & Assessment

• Monitor Vitals: Assess, record, and monitor patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation.

• Observe Symptoms: Detect and report any significant changes in a patient's physical or mental condition to the attending physician immediately.

• Daily Comfort: Assist patients with daily living activities, personal hygiene, and mobility needs.

2. Clinical Duties & Medication Administration

• Administer Medication: Safely prepare and give oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous (IV) medications as prescribed.

• Wound Care: Perform wound dressing, bandaging, and catheter care using strict aseptic techniques.

• Assist Physicians: Set up medical equipment and assist doctors during examinations, treatments, and minor surgical procedures.

3. Documentation & Care Planning

• Maintain Records: Update electronic health records (EHR) with accurate, detailed notes on treatments given, responses, and progress.

• Develop Care Plans: Collaborate with the medical team to create, implement, and modify individualized nursing care plans.

• Shift Handover: Conduct thorough bed-to-bed shift handovers to ensure continuity of safe patient care.

4. Patient Advocacy & Education

• Educate Families: Instruct patients and their families on post-discharge care, medication schedules, diet restrictions, and disease management.

• Emotional Support: Provide compassionate psychological and emotional support to anxious patients and relatives.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing) or a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM).

• Licensure: Valid and active registration with the State Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council (INC).

• Experience: 3+yr

• It is a Full Time Nurse / Compounder job for candidates with 3 - 6+ years Experience.
