Job Summary
An ANM Staff Nurse provides basic nursing care, maternal and child health services, immunization, health education, and community outreach. They assist in promoting preventive healthcare and support medical officers in delivering quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide basic nursing care to patients.
Monitor and record patients' vital signs.
Assist doctors during examinations and minor procedures.
Administer medications and injections as prescribed.
Provide antenatal, postnatal, and newborn care.
Conduct immunization sessions according to government guidelines.
Promote family planning and reproductive health services.
Educate individuals and communities on hygiene, nutrition, sanitation, and disease prevention.
Maintain patient records, registers, and reports accurately.
Participate in health camps, outreach programs, and national health initiatives.
Identify high-risk pregnancies and refer patients to higher healthcare facilities when required.
Ensure infection prevention and control practices are followed.
Maintain medical equipment and ensure adequate stock of medicines and supplies.
Respond to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary.
Qualifications
ANM Certificate/Diploma from a recognized institution.
Valid registration with the relevant State Nursing Council.
Basic knowledge of nursing procedures and maternal & child healthcare.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is desirable.
