Staff Nurse

1. Patient Assessment

• Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of the patient's physical, emotional, and mental health.

• Monitor changes in condition and respond accordingly.

• Evaluate home safety and make recommendations for modifications if needed.

2. Care Planning and Coordination

• Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, patients, families, and caregivers.

• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, and social workers.

• Adjust care plans based on patient needs and progress.

3. Medication Management

• Administer prescribed medications and injections.

• Monitor for side effects and interactions.

• Educate patients and caregivers about proper medication use.

4. Wound and Skin Care

• Clean and dress wounds.

• Monitor for signs of infection or delayed healing.

• Provide skin care for immobile patients to prevent bedsores.

5. Health Education and Support

• Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatments, nutrition, and hygiene.

• Provide emotional support and counseling when needed.

6. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate and timely nursing notes and records.

• Report changes in patient status to physicians and other care team members.

7. Supervision of Other Caregivers

• Oversee Nursing Assistants, and other support staff.

• Ensure that delegated tasks are carried out appropriately.

9. Emergency Response

• Recognize and respond to medical emergencies.

• Provide CPR or other immediate interventions until emergency services arrive.
