The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) is responsible for supporting patients with day-to-day care activities and assisting medical staff in providing high-quality care. This role includes ensuring patient comfort, safety, and hygiene while fostering a supportive and compassionate healthcare environment.
Assist patients with personal hygiene activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
Support patients with mobility and physical therapy needs, including transferring and ambulation.
Help patients with meals, including feeding if necessary and monitoring intake.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
Observe and report any changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
Assist in the transport of patients within the facility.
Document care provided accurately in patient records.
Follow all infection control and safety protocols.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent certification preferred (depending on region or facility).
Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.
Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately.
Strong attention to detail and reliability.
