Position Overview
The OT Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing
surgical procedures. This includes preparing the operating room, assisting surgeons during operations,
maintaining aseptic conditions and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process. The
role requires clinical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to hospital protocols and NABH standards.
Key Responsibilities
● Prepare the operation theatre before each procedure by ensuring all necessary instruments, equipment,
and supplies are available and sterile.
● Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during surgical procedures.
● Monitor patients’ condition and vital signs throughout pre-, intra-, and post-operative stages.
● Maintain strict aseptic and infection control protocols in the OT complex.
● Handle surgical instruments and equipment with care and ensure proper sterilization after procedures.
● Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, instrument counts, and consumables used.
● Ensure safe handling and disposal of bio-medical waste as per hospital policies.
● Coordinate with OT technicians and support staff for smooth workflow and case turnover.
● Provide preoperative and postoperative care and counseling to patients when required.
● Participate in departmental training, emergency drills, and quality improvement initiatives.
