Key Responsibilities of Pediatrics Doctor :
NICU
· Looking after all babies admitted to NICU
· Attending daily rounds
· Following the Plan for the day
· Admission and Discharge summaries to be prepared
· Clear Documentation & Communication
· To perform procedures in NICU under supervision/independently
Attending Deliveries
· To attend all in house deliveries under supervision of rostered consultant
· To admit all babies for brief supervision and observation
· Complete all documentations
Post-Natal Ward
· Review all high risk babies and follow the treatment plan
· Baby examination and documentation
· Administration of Vaccines
· New born screening participation and for supervision
· Discharge examination, documentation and follow-up plan after discussion with consultants
Out of Hours
· In addition, expected to attend all out-patient calls as well as emergencies
· Discuss treatment plan with consultant on call and follow.
Inpatient Paediatric Admission
· Examination, Checking, Prescription and Management of Paediatric Inpatient admissions after discussion with Incharge Consultant
· Documentation of daily progress and discharge
· Procedures if any including IV Cannulation
Key Responsibilities of Obg Doctor :
Cognitive Clinical Management
· To inform the concerned consultant as soon as the patient is admitted
· Perform and document history & physical examination
· Formulate differential diagnosis
· Develops and documents initial plan of care•
· Basic plan of care and check list as per labor room PROTOCOL book
· Modifies daily plan of care•
· Writes daily progress notes
· Obtain and document informed consent
· Perform preoperative work up
· Order appropriate referrals•
· Order appropriate investigations•
· Interpret hemodynamic parameters in critically ill patients•
· Interpret laboratory & radiology results
· Orders transfusions of blood and blood products•
· Order appropriate medication and other orders•
· Prepare an appropriate discharge summary and explain the orders on discharge to the patient.
· To write the duty report in duty register and take written handover and takeover. (to be checked daily by the in-house consultants)
· To fill the insurance form – to be signed by the concerned consultant.
Clinical Non-invasive Management
· Perform pelvic examination and Pap smear
· Perform cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
· Orders, adjusts artificial feeding modalities
Clinical Invasive Management
· Performs nasogastric intubation
· Inserts urethral catheter
· Assist in surgical procedures•
· Perform D&C, MTP•
· Conduct low & high risk vaginal deliveries•
