1. Caretaker – Roles & Responsibilities

A caretaker assists patients with daily activities and provides basic care under the supervision of nurses or doctors.

Patient Care

• Assist patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting

• Help with feeding and hydration

• Assist in mobility, turning, and positioning patients

• Support elderly, disabled, or bedridden patients

Monitoring & Reporting

• Observe patient condition and report changes to the nurse

• Measure and record basic vital signs (if trained)

• Watch for signs of discomfort, pain, or distress

Hygiene & Safety

• Maintain cleanliness of patient and surroundings

• Change bed linens and keep beds clean

• Follow infection control practices

• Ensure patient safety and prevent falls

Support & Comfort

• Provide emotional support and reassurance

• Assist patients during procedures (as directed)

• Escort patients for tests or transfers

Administrative Support

• Maintain basic patient records (as instructed)

  A Staff Nurse is a licensed professional responsible for clinical care, patient management, and coordination of healthcare services.

  Clinical Care

  • Assess patient health status and plan nursing care

  • Administer medications, injections, IV fluids

  • Perform wound care, catheterization, and procedures

  • Monitor vital signs and patient progress

  Patient Monitoring & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate nursing records and charts

  • Monitor response to treatment and report to doctors

  • Identify complications and take immediate action

  Coordination & Supervision

  • Coordinate care with doctors, specialists, and other staff

  • Supervise caretakers and junior nursing staff

  • Delegate tasks appropriately

  Patient Education

  • Educate patients and families on medications, diet, and care

  • Provide discharge instructions and follow-up guidance
