Key Responsibilities
Prepare patients for blood draws by explaining procedures and addressing concerns
Verify patient identity and match requisition forms to ensure correct testing
Perform venipuncture and capillary draws using proper technique and safety protocols
Label, package, and transport specimens according to lab procedures
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after blood draws
Sterilize and maintain equipment; ensure a clean, safe work environment
Follow infection control and biohazard disposal procedures
Communicate professionally with patients, nurses, and lab staff
Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies
