Job Description — Chief General Technician (Refurbished / Workshop Role)

Position: Chief General Technician

Department: Refurbishment / Workshop Operations

Experience: 10+ Years (Minimum 4–6 years as Technician/Mechanic)

Qualification: ITI / Diploma (Automobile/Mechanical)

🔧 Role Overview

The Chief General Technician will be responsible for leading a team of technicians in the workshop, ensuring high-quality vehicle refurbishment and adherence to OEM-level service standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on automotive knowledge, and the ability to supervise daily workshop operations.

✅ Key Responsibilities

Lead, guide, and supervise a team of workshop technicians.

Oversee vehicle inspection, refurbishment, repair, and quality checks.

Ensure daily productivity targets and quality standards are met.

Allocate tasks, monitor workflow, and support technicians with technical issues.

Maintain workshop discipline, safety, and compliance practices.

Coordinate with internal teams for parts requirement and work updates.

Perform advanced technical diagnostics and troubleshooting when required.

Ensure all vehicles meet company quality norms before delivery.

🎯 Eligibility Criteria (Must Have)

4–6 years of technician/mechanic experience and 10+ years total experience.

Educational Qualification: ITI / Diploma (Automobile/Mechanical).

No Service Advisor experience — strictly hands-on technical and workshop exposure.

No commercial vehicle experience (only passenger vehicles).

No experience in rival companies, such as:

Cars24, Gaadi.com, Rev, OLX Autos, CarDekho, CarWale, CarTrade, etc.

Experience in OEM-based workshops is accepted, including:

Mahindra First Choice

Maruti True Value

Other authorized OEM workshops

No plant/manufacturing background (automobile manufacturing not accepted).

Should read and understand basic English.

🚘 Additional Role Requirements

Must hold a valid four-wheeler driving license.

No local language restriction—candidate should be comfortable working in a diverse team.

Must clear two rounds of interviews (Technical + Operations/Managerial).

Must be willing to undergo 22 days of training after selection.
