Perform diagnosis, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of LCV & HCV vehicles including engines, gearboxes, hydraulics, brakes, clutches, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for waste collection vehicles such as compactors, dumpers, tippers, and loaders.
Inspect and identify vehicle faults, prepare service reports, and recommend corrective actions.
Supervise and guide junior mechanics and workshop helpers to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
Ensure availability and proper usage of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
Maintain service logs, job cards, and repair history for all vehicles.
Implement safety standards, ensure compliance with pollution control norms and RTO regulations.
Coordinate with fleet managers and operations teams to minimize vehicle downtime and maximize availability.
Ensure vehicles meet roadworthiness standards before deployment.
Train and mentor junior team members in modern automotive repair practices.
Strong knowledge of LCV & HCV vehicle systems, hydraulics, and waste handling equipment.
Ability to diagnose and repair diesel engines and heavy-duty transmissions.
Hands-on experience with vehicle electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Knowledge of fleet preventive maintenance schedules.
Leadership skills to manage a team of mechanics and helpers.
Problem-solving ability with a focus on minimizing breakdowns.
