Key responsibilities
Installation and assembly: Installing and assembling mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery according to technical drawings and specifications.
Routine maintenance: Performing planned maintenance checks, inspections, cleaning, and lubrication to prevent issues.
Repairs and troubleshooting: Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults, including replacing worn-out parts like bearings, pulleys, and seals.
Emergency response: Responding to and fixing emergency breakdowns on production lines or other machinery.
Record keeping: Documenting maintenance activities, repairs, and findings in logs and work records.
Equipment upkeep: Using tools to cut, shape, and fit metal parts, and ensuring equipment complies with safety regulations.
Essential skills and knowledge
Proficiency with hand and power tools, including grinding and cutting equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.
Knowledge of various mechanical systems, such as conveyors, compressors, pumps, and valves.
Understanding of safety regulations for operating machinery.
Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing and fixing issues.
Precision in measuring and fitting parts to ensure accuracy.
