Fabrication mechanic

Reports To: Production Supervisor / Factory Manager

1. Job Purpose

To assemble, fit, install, and support the manufacturing of façade access systems (BMU components, davits, monorail trolleys, cradles, and mechanical structures) ensuring high-quality workmanship, precision, and safety.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Assembly & Fitting

• Perform mechanical fitting of BMU components, frames, trolleys, cradles, and structural parts.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication sketches, and BOMs.

• Carry out drilling, grinding, cutting, welding assistance, and alignment tasks.

• Fit mechanical subassemblies like winches, gearboxes, rail wheels, and safety devices.

B. Quality & Inspection

• Ensure measurements and tolerances as per drawings.

• Report fabrication defects or design mismatches.

• Conduct pre-assembly and final inspection of fitted parts.

C. Tools & Machine Handling

• Operate power tools (grinders, drilling machines, hydraulic tools).

• Maintain tools and ensure safe operation.

D. Safety & Compliance

• Follow company safety policies and PPE requirements.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation.

E. Support Activities

• Assist welding and fabrication teams when required.

• Participate in installation or site work occasionally (optional based on company need).

3. Required Skills & Qualifications

• ITI Fitter / Mechanical Trade certification (preferred).

• 4-6years of fitting experience in mechanical manufacturing.

• Ability to read engineering drawings.

• Knowledge of mechanical assemblies, fabrication, and hand tools.

• Basic understanding of safety standards.

5. Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift mechanical components.
