Car mechanic

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide range of petrol and diesel vehicles.

• Conduct standard service and maintenance work, including oil changes, filter replacements, brake servicing, and fluid checks.

• Expertly fit, repair, and replace mechanical and electrical parts (e.g., engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension, exhaust systems).

• Perform engine tuning and conduct emissions tests.

• Use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively to identify issues accurately.

• Complete all jobs in a timely manner while adhering to quality and safety standards.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.

• Provide clear explanations of repairs and services to the Service Manager/Customers.

• Keep up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: 1 to 6 years of hands-on experience as a car mechanic.

• Technical Expertise: Proven expertise in servicing, maintaining, and repairing both petrol and diesel cars.

• Part Fitting: Demonstrable skill in fitting a variety of automotive parts.

• Tools: Proficiency in using manual tools, power tools, and modern diagnostic equipment.

• Physical Ability: Must be able to lift heavy objects, stand for prolonged periods, and work in various physical positions.

• Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a commitment to getting the job done right the first time.

• Teamwork & Integrity: Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work well within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ITI / Diploma in Automotive Mechanics or a related field.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Certification from a recognized automotive program is a plus.
