Core Responsibilities
Diagnostic & Troubleshooting
Inspect vehicles to accurately identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults.
Use advanced diagnostic scanners and equipment to read error codes and interpret data live streams.
Test-drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify performance and diagnose complaints.
Repair & Maintenance
Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, brake pad replacements, and fluid top-ups.
Repair and overhaul major assemblies such as engines, transmissions (manual and automatic), steering, and suspension systems.
Service and repair automotive electrical networks, air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and infotainment modules.
Align wheels, balance tires, and adjust headlamps according to manufacturer specifications.
Documentation & Safety
Document all completed repairs, parts used, and time spent on the workshop job card.
Follow all workplace safety protocols, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and vehicle lifts.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe bay area and workshop environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; an ITI certificate or Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering is highly preferred.
2 to 5+ years of proven experience working as a car mechanic or technician in an authorized dealership or reputable multi-brand workshop.
