Job Title: Four-Wheeler Technician – Taxi Fleet

Department: Fleet Maintenance / Operations
Reports To: Workshop Manager / Service Manager

Position Summary:

The Four-Wheeler Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and preventive servicing of taxi vehicles. You ensure our fleet remains safe, operational, and compliant with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Routine Maintenance & Servicing

l Perform scheduled services: oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, filter replacements, fluid top-ups Diagnostics & Repairs

l Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using diagnostic tools and manual inspection.

l Repair or replace faulty engine, transmission, suspension, braking, steering, and electrical components

Preventive Checks & Compliance

l Conduct thorough safety and emissions inspections according to regulations

l Adhere to safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment

Record-Keeping & Documentation

l Maintain accurate logs of services, repairs, parts used, and inspection outcomes

Parts Management

l Identify needed parts and coordinate ordering and inventory control

Quality Assurance

l Perform test drives post-repair to validate performance and safety

Team Collaboration

l Communicate effectively with workshop staff, fleet operations, and management teams .

l Assist in training junior technicians or apprentices as needed

Continuous Improvement

Stay updated on automotive technologies and repair best practices

Qualifications & Skills:

Education: High school or equivalent; vocational/ITI diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering preferred

Experience: 2+ years in automotive repair, preferably with taxi or fleet vehicles

Technical Skills: Proficiency with engine systems, diagnostics tools, electrical systems, and hydraulic components

Certifications: ASE or equivalent certifications are a plus

Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, physical stamina, good communication, and teamwork

Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Environment:

 Workshop setting with exposure to tools, grease, chemicals, and potential noise 

Physical Demands: 

Ability to lift heavy parts, inspect under vehicles, and work standing or kneeling for extended periods

Schedule: Full-time hours; may include weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts during peak periods
