Job Summary
The Argon (TIG) Welder & Pipe Fitter is responsible for fitting, assembling, and TIG (Argon) welding hydraulic pipes, tube assemblies, flanges, valves, and fittings as per engineering drawings and customer specifications. The role ensures accurate fit-up, leak-proof welding, and timely completion of production while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Perform pipe fitting and TIG (Argon) welding of hydraulic pipes, tube assemblies, manifolds, flanges, and fittings.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, piping isometric drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication sketches.
Measure, mark, cut, bevel, bend, align, and assemble hydraulic pipes before welding.
Ensure proper fit-up, root gap, alignment, and dimensional accuracy.
Perform high-quality TIG welding on SS, MS, and Carbon Steel hydraulic pipes.
Install flanges, elbows, tees, reducers, valves, clamps, and other hydraulic fittings.
Inspect welds visually and rectify defects such as porosity, undercut, cracks, or lack of fusion.
Prepare assemblies for hydrostatic or pneumatic pressure testing.
Use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Measuring Tape, Spirit Level, Bevel Gauge, and Angle Gauge.
Maintain welding machines, hand tools, and fabrication equipment in good working condition.
Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), quality standards, 5S, and all safety regulations.
Coordinate with the Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to achieve production targets.
