Job Title: Welder / Welding Technician
Department: Production / Fabrication
Reports To: Production Manager / Fabrication In-charge
Location: Pilkhuwa Hapur

Job Purpose

To perform high-quality welding operations (MIG/TIG/ARC/Gas Welding) on metal components and structures as per drawings, specifications, and quality standards to support smooth production processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Welding & Fabrication

• Perform MIG, TIG, ARC, and gas welding according to job requirements.

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.

• Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures and components.

• Ensure proper alignment and fitting of parts before welding.

• Conduct tack welding, full welding, and finishing as required.

2. Quality & Inspection

• Inspect welds visually and with measuring instruments to ensure quality standards.

• Identify welding defects and take corrective actions.

• Maintain adherence to WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) and SOPs.

3. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety rules and use PPE (helmet, gloves, shoes, apron, goggles).

• Ensure proper housekeeping in the work area.

• Handle welding equipment safely and report any malfunction.

4. Equipment Handling

• Operate cutting tools such as grinders, cutters, and gas cutting torches.

• Maintain welding machines and tools in working condition.

• Perform routine checks of tools and equipment.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily production logs.

• Report issues, delays, or material shortages to the supervisor.

• Follow company policies and production timelines.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of MIG/TIG/ARC welding processes.

• Ability to read technical drawings and welding symbols.

• Good hand–eye coordination and physical stamina.

• Basic knowledge of metallurgy, heat effects, and weld quality testing.

• Understanding of safety standards.

Qualification & Experience

• ITI Welder / Diploma in Welding Technology preferred.

• 1–5 years of experience in fabrication/welding work.

• Certification in welding (if applicable) will be an advantage.
