Welder – Job Description (Haier Manufacturing Unit)

Job Title: Welder

1. Job Purpose

To perform high-quality TIG welding operations on components and assemblies as per Haier manufacturing standards, ensuring accuracy, safety, and adherence to product quality requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Perform TIG, MIG, Arc, and Gas welding on steel, stainless steel metals used in Haier products.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and process sheets to execute work accurately.

• Carry out cutting, shaping, assembling, and welding of metal parts for production or maintenance work.

• Inspect welded joints to ensure compliance with Haier quality standards, ISO procedures, and safety norms.

• Perform finishing operations such as grinding, polishing, and deburring of welded surfaces.

• Operate welding machines, fixtures, jigs, and hand tools efficiently.

• Conduct routine maintenance of welding equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance.

• Maintain proper records of work completed as per SOP and 5S practices.

• Follow safety protocols, PPE usage, and participate in toolbox talks and safety trainings.

• Assist in continuous improvement (Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing) activities to increase productivity.

3. Qualifications & Experience

• ITI / Diploma in Welding, Fabrication, Mechanical, or related trade (Mandatory)

• 2–6 years of experience in industrial welding (preferably in home appliances, automotive, or consumer electronics manufacturing)

• Welding certification from authorized institute (preferred)

4. Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• Physically fit to perform welding for long hours

• Comfortable working with PPEs and in hot/humid working conditions

5. Reporting To

• Production Supervisor / Welding Shop In-charge

6. Work Environment

• Shop-floor based role

• Shift-based work as per production requirement

• It is a Full Time Manufacturing job for candidates with 6+ years of experience.
