Carry out MIG / TIG / Arc welding operations as per job requirement.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, symbols, and welding specifications.
Ensure proper joint preparation, alignment, and welding sequence.
Perform visual inspection and self-checks before submitting for quality inspection.
Maintain welding machines, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
Follow WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) and ensure weld quality as per QMS.
Record daily production & welding parameters in log sheets.
Handle material carefully and minimize rework/rejection.
Comply with safety standards (PPE usage, fire prevention, ventilation).
Support supervisors in training new welders or helpers.
Knowledge of welding processes: MIG, TIG, SMAW (Stick Welding).
Ability to read engineering drawings & welding symbols.
Good understanding of material properties (mild steel, stainless steel, sheet metal, etc.).
Basic knowledge of quality checks (visual, dimensional, NDT if applicable).
Safety-conscious and disciplined at workplace.
ITI / Diploma (Welding / Fitter / Fabrication) or equivalent.
Minimum 2–5 years experience in welding (preferably in sheet metal / automobile industry).
Certification in Welding (if any AWS/IS standard) will be preferred.
Weld quality (rejection/rework %).
Adherence to welding parameters & WPS.
Productivity & daily output.
Compliance to safety norms.
Machine & tool upkeep.
