Welder

• Perform MIG, TIG, and Arc welding on stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium components used in medical equipment.

• Fabricate sheet metal structures, frames, and enclosures according to engineering drawings and specifications.

• Conduct cutting, bending, grinding, and finishing of fabricated parts.

• Ensure weld joints meet medical equipment safety and quality standards.

• Inspect dimensions, alignment, and surface finishing as per ISO 13485 & GMP requirements.

• Maintain proper polishing, buffing, and smooth finishing for hygienic and sterilisable surfaces.

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions.

• Select correct welding consumables, gases, and equipment for each operation.

• Identify and rectify defects such as cracks, porosity, or distortion in welds.

• Adhere to safety protocols and use required PPE (gloves, goggles, mask, and apron).

• Maintain fabrication area cleanliness as per cleanroom/controlled environment guidelines.

• Record daily activities, material usage, and welding logs.

• Coordinate with production, design, and quality teams to ensure timely completion.

• Suggest process improvements for reducing rework and improving efficiency.

• Assist in training and mentoring junior welders/helpers.

Required Qualifications & Skills;

·         ITI / Diploma in Welding, Fabrication, or Mechanical Engineering.

·         2–5 years in fabrication and welding (preferably in medical device, pharmaceutical, or precision manufacturing industries).

·         Strong knowledge of TIG/MIG welding on stainless steel (SS304/SS316) used in medical equipment.

·         Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & fabrication blueprints.

·         Skilled in sheet metal fabrication techniques (cutting, bending, grinding, polishing).
