To perform high-quality TIG (Argon) welding of stainless steel and other specified metals to fabricate and assemble precision components used in laboratory and pharmaceutical equipment, ensuring compliance with dimensional, strength, and hygienic requirements. Key Responsibilities
1. Perform TIG (Argon) welding on SS304, SS316, and mild steel as per drawings and fabrication requirements.
2. Weld thin-gauge and precision parts
3. Read and interpret fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and job cards.
4. Ensure proper edge preparation, fit-up, and alignment before welding.
5. Maintain smooth, clean, and hygienic weld finishes suitable for pharmaceutical and laboratory applications.
6. Control heat input to prevent distortion, warping, or metallurgical defects.
7. Carry out post-weld cleaning, grinding, and finishing when required.
8. Inspect own welds for porosity, cracks, undercut, and penetration quality.
9. Follow safety procedures, including PPE usage and safe handling of gas cylinders.
10. Maintain welding machines, torches, and consumables in good working condition.
11. Coordinate with fitters, fabricators, and quality inspectors to meet production timelines.
Skills & Competencies
1. Proficiency in TIG (Argon) welding of stainless steel.
2. Ability to weld thin sheets (1–3 mm) without burn-through or distortion.
3. Knowledge of welding parameters, filler rods, shielding gases, and joint types.
4. Understanding of surface finish requirements for clean-room and pharma equipment.
5. Ability to use measuring instruments like a vernier, scale, and square for alignment.
