Role Summary
We are looking for a skilled TIG Welder with a strong mechanical background to support fabrication, assembly, and manufacturing activities for industrial machinery. The role demands precision welding, understanding of mechanical drawings, and hands-on experience in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality TIG welding on stainless steel (SS-304/316), mild steel, and other alloys.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication sketches.
Fabricate components, frames, ducts, trays, tanks, and assemblies as per manufacturing requirements.
Ensure dimensional accuracy using measuring tools (Vernier, micrometer, angle gauge).
Prepare joints, clean weld surfaces, and set up fixtures and jigs.
Maintain welding equipment, torches, gas cylinders, and consumables.
Conduct basic grinding, cutting, and finishing operations.
Inspect weld quality (visual + gauge-based) and rectify defects.
Assist in machine assembly, fitting, and mechanical integration activities when required.
Follow safety protocols, PPE standards, and factory discipline.
Required Skills & Experience
2–5 years of experience in TIG welding, preferably in machinery manufacturing or fabrication workshops.
Strong understanding of welding parameters, filler rods, shielding gases, and joint preparation.
Ability to read mechanical/engineering drawings.
Good knowledge of SS fabrication techniques (thin sheet & structural).
Basic mechanical assembly experience (bolting, alignment, fitting).
Ability to operate hand tools, grinders, cutting machines, and measuring instruments
Qualifications
ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Fitter, Welder, or equivalent trade certification.
TIG Welding Certification (preferred).
