Perform MIG welding on structural components, chassis, frames, brackets, machine bodies, and fabricated assemblies used in railway track machines.
Weld components in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions as per Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and assembly instructions.
Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, beveling, cleaning, and fitting before welding.
Ensure correct alignment, dimensional accuracy, and fit-up of components before welding.
Inspect completed welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, lack of fusion, and distortion, and carry out repairs when required.
Operate MIG welding machines, gas cutting equipment, grinders, drilling machines, and other fabrication tools safely.
Perform repair welding on worn or damaged railway track machine parts during maintenance and overhaul activities.
Follow approved welding procedures and quality requirements for railway equipment.
Coordinate with the Quality Inspection team for dimensional and visual inspection of welded assemblies.
Maintain welding equipment, gas cylinders, cables, and accessories in good working condition.
Ensure proper housekeeping and maintain the workplace according to 5S standards.
Follow all company safety procedures and use the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
