Job Title: Welder
Department: Engineering / Maintenance
Qualificaion: ITI-Welder
Location: Bangalore, Nelamangala
Reporting to: Maintenance Supervisor / Engineering Head
Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Welding or equivalent
Experience: 0–5 years (preferred in pharmaceutical / cleanroom / process equipment industry)

Job Purpose:
To perform high-quality welding and fabrication work on pharmaceutical-grade equipment, piping, and structures, ensuring compliance with GMP and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Carry out TIG, MIG, and arc welding for stainless steel and mild steel components used in pharmaceutical production.

Fabricate and repair process piping, utility lines (steam, WFI, compressed air), and equipment as per engineering drawings.

Perform welding activities in cleanroom environments ensuring minimal contamination.

Read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication blueprints.

Maintain cleanliness and GMP compliance during welding jobs in production and utility areas.

Ensure proper finishing (grinding, polishing, passivation) of welded joints for pharma-grade equipment.

Follow safety protocols, including PPE usage and fire safety norms while welding.

Assist in preventive and breakdown maintenance involving welding or fabrication.

Document work performed as per standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintenance logs.

Coordinate with Engineering and Validation teams during installation or modification of equip

Key Skills:
Proficiency in TIG/MIG/Arc welding – especially SS316 and SS304 (GMP standard)

Knowledge of pharmaceutical fabrication requirements (smooth finish, no dead legs, sanitary fittings)

Ability to work from fabrication drawings and P&IDs

Understanding of GMP, EHS, and fire safety norms

Attention to detail and cleanliness in welding jobs

Basic knowledge of mechanical maintenance is a plus
