Welder

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Welder with 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience in structural steel fabrication. The role involves executing high-quality welding work as per drawings and welding procedures, ensuring safety, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards for BMU and façade access systems.

Key Responsibilities

Welding & Fabrication

• Perform MIG / ARC / TIG welding as per job requirements

• Weld structural steel components such as:

  • Frames

  • Brackets

  • Jibs

  • Platforms and load-bearing members

• Follow approved WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications)

• Ensure proper joint preparation, fit-up, and alignment

Drawing & Technical Understanding

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and weld symbols

• Understand tolerances critical for mechanical assemblies

Quality Control

• Maintain consistent weld quality with minimum rework

• Identify and rectify common weld defects (porosity, undercut, lack of fusion)

• Support visual inspection and QA/QC requirements

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements

• Handle welding equipment, electrodes, and gas cylinders safely

• Adhere to hot work permits and fire safety norms

Productivity & Housekeeping

• Meet daily production targets

• Maintain welding machines and tools in good condition

• Ensure proper housekeeping of work area (5S)

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• 3–5 years experience in structural / industrial welding

• Proficiency in:

  • SMAW (ARC)

  • GMAW (MIG)

  • TIG (preferred, not mandatory)

• Experience in flat, vertical, and overhead welding positions

• Basic understanding of steel grades and welding consumables

Knowledge

• Familiarity with industrial safety practices

• Basic understanding of fabrication quality standards

• Exposure to structural steel projects preferred

Education & Certification

• ITI / Diploma in Welding or equivalent experience

• Welding certification is an added advantage

• It is a Full Time Manufacturing job for candidates with 2 - 4 years of experience.
