A VMC (Vertical Machining Center) Programmer is responsible for creating and optimizing CNC programs used to machine parts on VMC machines. Typical responsibilities include:

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and CAD models.
Creating CNC programs using G-code, M-code, or CAM software.
Selecting suitable cutting tools, speeds, and feeds.
Setting up and testing programs on VMC machines.
Monitoring machining operations and making adjustments when needed.
Ensuring parts meet quality and dimensional specifications.
Troubleshooting machining and programming issues.
Optimizing programs to improve productivity and reduce machining time.
Following safety procedures and maintaining machine records.
Coordinating with production, design, and quality teams
