Key Responsibilities
Operate VMC machines as per production plan and work instructions.
Load and unload raw materials/components safely and correctly.
Perform machine setup, job setting and fixture setting.
Perform tool loading, tool setting and tool offset correction.
Set and monitor work offsets and machining parameters.
Read and understand engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
Execute VMC programs and make basic program/offset corrections when required.
Monitor machine operation and identify abnormal conditions, alarms, vibration and tool wear.
Replace cutting tools when required and maintain proper tool life.
Conduct first-piece and in-process inspection.
Use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge and Dial Gauge.
Maintain dimensional accuracy and required surface finish.
Achieve daily production targets while maintaining quality.
Minimize rejection, rework, scrap and machine downtime.
Maintain production records, inspection reports and machine logbooks.
Report machine breakdowns and quality issues to the concerned supervisor.
Follow 5S, PPE, safety procedures and company quality standards.
Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping around the machine.
Support preventive maintenance and continuous improvement activities.
