Job Description: CNC & VMC Operator With Line Quality Checker

Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC & VMC Machine Operator to set up, operate, and monitor CNC and Vertical Machining Centre (VMC) machines for precision component production. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient machining operations, high-quality output, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Set up and operate CNC milling machines and VMC equipment according to job orders and technical drawings.
• Load tools, fixtures, and material; enter correct programs and offsets from CNC controllers.
• Ensure machining runs smoothly with minimal downtime, by monitoring machine performance and adjusting feeds, speeds, and tool paths.
• Conduct routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and calibration.
• Interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and work with team members for solution implementation.
• Maintain machining logs, production records, and report daily output to the supervisor.
• Follow all safety and housekeeping practices on the shop floor.
• Inspect incoming and finished components using precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, gauge blocks, and CMM (if available).
• Verify dimensional accuracy against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Conduct first article inspection (FAI), in-process checks, and final inspections to detect defects or deviations.
• Record inspection results, prepare quality reports, and maintain inspection documentation.
• Work with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Ensure calibration and proper handling of measuring instruments.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by reporting trends and recommending corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean and organized inspection area; enforce quality control protocols.
Skills & Qualifications
• Proven experience as a CNC / VMC Operator or similar role in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of machining principles and machine control programming.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and blueprints.
• Working knowledge of tooling and fixtures commonly used in milling operations.
• Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Relevant certification or diploma in Mechanical / Production / Industrial field is preferred.
• Prior experience in quality inspection within a machining/manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in use of precision measurement tools and gauges.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Certification in Quality Assurance / Inspection is an advantage.
