Manufacturing Tool and Die Maker

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day tool room operations and manpower.

• Plan and monitor preventive maintenance of press tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.

• Ensure timely repair and breakdown support for production tools.

• Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance departments to minimize downtime.

• Develop and improve tooling for productivity enhancement and cost reduction.

• Monitor tool life and maintain tooling records.

• Ensure availability of tools as per production requirements.

• Supervise tool trials, modifications, and new tool development activities.

• Control tool room inventory, consumables, and spare parts.

• Implement 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives in the tool room.

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.

• Train and develop tool room technicians and operators.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Sheet Metal Press Tools and Die Maintenance.

• Expertise in Progressive, Compound, and Blanking Dies.

• Knowledge of Tool Design, Tool Development, and Tool Troubleshooting.

• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.

• Knowledge of CNC Milling, VMC, Surface Grinding, Wire Cut EDM, and Conventional Machines.

• Team management and leadership skills.

• Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.

• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.

Qualification:

• Diploma / B. Tech / B. E. in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

• 8–15 years of experience in Tool Room operations within the Sheet Metal Industry.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a managerial role.

• It is a Full Time Manufacturing job for candidates with 4 - 6+ years Experience.
