JOB DESCRIPTION – SURFACE GRINDER OPERATOR
Department: Tool Room
Reporting To: HOD – Tool Room
1. Qualification & Experience
ITI/Diploma in Machinist or relevant trade.
2–4 years of experience in surface grinding operations.
2. Required Skills
Knowledge of measuring instruments and their least counts.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Knowledge of machine accuracy, tolerances, and grinding operations.
3. Key Duties & Responsibilities
Operate the surface grinding machine and maintain grinding wheels properly.
Grind workpieces as per drawings, dimensions, contours, and required accuracy.
Study blueprints and plan the sequence of grinding operations.
Inspect workpieces using appropriate measuring instruments.
Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and maintenance.
Maintain measuring instruments, tools, and fixtures properly.
Follow 5S, housekeeping, hygiene, and workplace safety standards.
