Engineer - Suspension Design Function Research & Development - Jaipur Pay Band E4 to M2 Role Engineer - Suspension Design A purpose driven role for you The Engineer will be responsible for: • Component level design for chassis parts. • Suspension system design and development, testing and validation on vehicle. A Day in the life • Vehicle and system level benchmarking of competitors • Generation of detailed benchmarking database for future reference. • Suspension components (Spring, front fork, shock absorber and damper characteristics) design and development • Suspension design calculation • Cad modeling (3 D modeling and 2 D drawing) of chassis components. • Front and Rear Wheel Assembly layout check and finalization. • Basic knowledge of FEA analysis • Generate and implement VA/VE ideas to reduce the product material cost. • Build prototype vehicle for system evaluation • Suspension evaluation on road & test bench • Interact with vendors in development of components to achieved desired performance and cost. Academic Qualification & Experience B.Tech/ B.E Technical Skills/Knowledge • Good knowledge of motorcycle dynamics. • Sound knowledge of suspension specification & design calculations (front fork, shock absorber) • Sound knowledge of suspension evaluation on road and test bench • Sound knowledge of 3D modeling and 2D drawing in Catia V5. • Ability to develop a system and part concepts. • Good understanding of DFMEA and GD&T. • Basic understanding of FE analysis. • Vehicle level knowledge of adjoining systems & its impact on performance of vehicle. • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly process Behavioural Skills • Initiative to take challenges • Willingness for self-learning. • Sharing of knowledge and enhancing others as well as self-knowledge. • Ready to support team members in accomplishing the team goals and tasks • Innovation- ideation of new part and system concepts • Drive for results- Willing to strive to deliver tasks on time with quality What will it be like to work for Hero As the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters for the last 22 years, Hero is where you will get to work with the brightest innovators, passionate about being the best in what they do.
