The Printing Press Supervisor is responsible for planning, supervising, and controlling day-to-day printing operations to ensure high-quality output, minimum wastage, on-time delivery, and efficient use of manpower and machines. The role involves coordinating between pre-press, press operators, and finishing teams while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Plan daily and weekly press schedules based on job priority and delivery timelines.
Allocate machines, manpower, and materials efficiently.
Ensure correct job setup as per job card (paper, size, ink, plates, quantities).
Monitor job progress and ensure adherence to production targets.
Coordinate with planning and dispatch teams for timely completion.
2.Quality Control
Maintain consistent print quality (color, registration, sharpness, ink density).
Ensure adherence to approved samples, shade cards, and customer specifications.
Identify defects such as scumming, ghosting, doubling, color variation, or misregistration and take corrective action.
Minimize rejection, reprints, and paper wastage.
Maintain quality records and corrective actions.
3.Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of offset printing processes
Hands-on experience with Heidelberg or equivalent machines
Understanding of color management and print quality control
Ability to manage manpower and multitask
Problem-solving and decision-making skills
Basic computer knowledge (Excel, job tracking)
Good communication and leadership skills
