Supervisor

Job Purpose

To supervise and coordinate day-to-day production activities for plastic injection moulding and electroplating processes, ensuring production targets, product quality, safety, manpower utilization, and delivery schedules are achieved efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Supervision

• Supervise daily production activities for injection moulding and electroplating operations.

• Plan and allocate manpower, machines, and resources according to production requirements.

• Ensure production targets are achieved as per the daily/weekly/monthly plan.

• Monitor machine utilization, cycle time, rejection, downtime, and overall productivity.

• Coordinate with maintenance and production teams to minimize machine breakdowns and downtime.

• Ensure proper shift handover and maintain production records.

2. Injection Moulding Operations

• Monitor injection moulding machines, mould changes, process parameters, and production cycles.

• Ensure correct setting of temperature, pressure, speed, cooling time, and other process parameters.

• Identify and resolve common moulding defects such as short moulding, flash, sink marks, warpage, burn marks, and dimensional variation.

• Ensure proper handling and storage of raw materials and moulds.

• Coordinate mould maintenance and replacement as required.

3. Electroplating Operations

• Supervise electroplating processes and ensure adherence to approved process parameters.

• Monitor cleaning, pretreatment, plating, rinsing, drying, and finishing operations.

• Ensure proper control of plating thickness, surface finish, adhesion, colour, and appearance.

• Monitor chemical/bath conditions and coordinate with the quality/chemical team for required adjustments.

• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of plating chemicals in accordance with safety requirements.

4. Quality Control

• Ensure production is carried out according to approved work instructions, drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

• Monitor rejection, rework, and process defects and take corrective action.

• Coordinate with the Quality Department to investigate customer and internal quality issues.

• Implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce rejection and improve process quality.

• Maintain traceability and production documentation.
