Inventory management:
Oversee daily inward and outward movements of raw materials, finished goods, and other supplies. Maintain accurate records and conduct regular physical stock counts.
Receiving and inspection:
Physically receive materials from suppliers, verify quantities against purchase orders, and inspect for damage.
Storage and preservation:
Ensure materials are stored correctly, organized, and preserved in a safe and proper environment to prevent damage.
Issuing and dispatch:
Issue materials to production or other departments upon request, both physically and through system entries.
Coordination:
Act as a liaison between procurement, production, accounts, and other departments to ensure timely material flow and resolve issues.
Reporting and documentation:
Prepare and submit daily, monthly, and annual reports on inventory levels, inward/outward operations, and slow-moving/non-moving items. Submit invoices and other documents to the accounts team.
Safety and compliance:
Ensure all store operations comply with company policies, quality standards (e.g., ISO), and safety regulations.
Continuous improvement:
Participate in process improvement activities to optimize store operations and recommend changes for efficiency and quality.
Warehouse maintenance:
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the store and warehouse areas.
Qualifications and skills
Education:
A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is often preferred.
Experience:
Previous experience in storekeeping or a similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment is highly desirable.
