POSTION- Solar Designer-
(Exp-1yr to 2yr) )
A Solar Designer creates detailed technical plans, layouts, and electrical diagrams for residential, commercial, or utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) systems. They use simulation software to optimize energy production, ensure compliance with building codes/permitting, and produce bills of materials. Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and PVsyst is typically required.
Key Responsibilities
System Design & Layout: Create 2D/3D layouts for rooftop or ground-mount systems, including panel placement, inverter selection, and wiring, using AutoCAD & Sketch Up.
Technical Analysis: Perform energy modeling, shading analysis, and production estimates (e.g., via PVsyst) to optimize system efficiency.
Electrical Design: Develop single-line diagrams (SLD) and electrical schematics.
Compliance & Permitting: Ensure designs adhere to local electrical codes, building regulations, and safety standards.
Documentation: Prepare detailed bills of materials (BOM) and technical documentation for project approvals.
Collaboration: Coordinate with sales, engineering, and installation teams to troubleshoot design issues in the field.
Required Skills & Qualifications.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of electrical principles, PV system components (modules, inverters), and mounting structures.
Experience: Previous experience in solar PV design, often 1- 2years, depending on project scale.
Education: Typically Course In CAD. Renewable Energy, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Typical Qualifications & Career Path
Job Titles: Solar Designer, Solar Design Engineer, PV Designer, Solar Engineer.
: Residen Focus Areastial (smaller, fast-paced), Commercial/Industrial (medium-scale), Utility-Scale (>5MW, requires complex interconnection studies).
Key Attributes: Detail-oriented, analytical, and proficient in problem-solving.
