Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Service Engineer to manage crane service operations, maintenance, and customer relationships. The role combines hands-on technical work with business development responsibilities in the crane service domain.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of Port Cranes, EOT Cranes, hoists, panels, VFDs, limit switches, brakes, and safety systems
Execute preventive and breakdown maintenance at customer sites
Prepare condition assessment reports for existing cranes and systems
Identify electrical upgradation, refurbishment, and modernization requirements
Support commissioning and testing of refurbished cranes
Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory regulations
Conduct site surveys and provide technical inputs for quotations
Identify and develop opportunities for Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) and service agreements
Promote crane refurbishment, modernization, and retrofitting solutions
Convert service visits into repeat business and long-term contracts
Maintain strong relationships with plant heads, maintenance managers, and procurement teams
Prepare detailed service reports, visit reports, and technical recommendations
Maintain records of customer equipment, service history, and contracts
Coordinate with internal teams including design, procurement, and service execution
Support negotiations and contract finalization when required
Eligibility Criteria
Graduate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
3–7 years of experience in Port Cranes, EOT Crane servicing, maintenance, or refurbishment
Strong knowledge of crane electrical systems, including PLCs
Proven troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Preferred Candidate Profile
Experience in crane service/maintenance contracts within industrial or port environments
Exposure to crane modernization, upgradation, and retrofitting projects
Familiarity with industries such as ports, shipyards, steel plants, warehouses, aluminum smelters, and heavy engineering
Basic understanding of commercials, costing, and contracts
Ability to identify and convert service opportunities into business
Strong communication and customer-handling skills
Self-driven, result-oriented, and service-oriented mindset
Willingness to travel extensively to customer sites
Male candidates preferred
